A pop rock musical about facing crossroads in life and holding onto your dreams.  It tells the story of Jonathan, a promising young composer on the eve of his 30th birthday.  His girlfriend wants to get married and move out of the city (tick), his best friend is making big bucks on Madison Avenue (tick) and he’s still waiting tables and trying to write the great American musical before time, and, unbeknownst to him, life passes him by (BOOM!).
 

Tick, tick…BOOM! was written by Jonathan Larson, the 1996 Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize winner for RENT, and adapted by the 2001 Pulitzer Prize winning playwright of Proof, David Auburn.

Washington premiere of this uplifting and humorous musical about the legendary blues and jazz singer Alberta Hunter.  A unique blend of soulful blues and riveting biography, Cookin' covers the remarkable life of this singular talent: her birth in Memphis in 1895, her international career that flourished from the 20's through the 40's, and her triumphant comeback at The Cookery in Greenwich Village at the age of 82.
