MetroStage has produced
many remarkable shows since reopening our new theatre in 2001.
Musicals, dramas, cabarets, staged readings, and special events have
graced our stage. These have included world premieres, American
premieres, and many Washington area premieres. We have received Helen
Hayes nominations for our
remarkable actors and our innovative new musicals, including the 2005
Helen Hayes Award for Best Actress in a Resident Musical for Bernadine
Mitchell in Mahalia , as well as awards from the Theatre
Lobby, the Actors’ Center, the Washington Chapter of the American
Institute of Architects, and Healthy Families Alexandria, recognizing
our contributions to the arts and the community. Year round we offer
exciting theatre experiences and rewarding opportunities for our
talented artists and audiences in an intimate theater setting.
