SPring Cabaret Series 2022

With MetroStage's Favorite Cabaret Artists

Roz White, well-known to our MetroStage audiences, will be performing with Washington favorite Steve Washington, making his MetroStage debut, on Tuesday, April 19 at 7:30 pm in Songbirds &Troubadours: A Toast to the Legends, featuring the music of Billy Eckstine, Shirley Horn, Nat King Cole, Nancy Wilson and many more. Roz has been seen on the stage at MetroStage for 20 seasons including Three Sistahs, Gin Game, Gee’s Bend, Anne & Emmett, and so many original musicals that premiered at MetroStage. Roz and Steve were recently seen at the Washington National Democratic Club (WNDC) celebrating “Black Broadway: The Golden Era of U Street.” Join us as we celebrate these standard-setting artists who have inspired generations of performers.

On Tuesday, May 17 at 7:30 pm Yvette Spears will bring a little New Orleans to Alexandria with her cabaret entitled My Creole Love Call, a spirited musical toast of Jazz Heritage splendored from the Crescent City of New Orleans, journeying through the Charm City to the Nation’s Capital City. A fusion of culture and composition featuring the music of Louis Armstrong, Mahalia Jackson, Billie Holiday, and Duke Ellington. Yvette has been seen at MetroStage in All Night Strut, Ladies Swing the Blues, and Blackberry Daze. Special guest artist Aaron Myers will be joining Yvette on stage. Aaron is a singer, songwriter and pianist who is the chair of the Capitol Hill Jazz Foundation, host of Jazz Stories on WPFW, resident artist at Mr. Henry’s, to name a few.
