Mission

MetroStage is a professional not-for-profit theatre company dedicated to producing an eclectic season of classic and contemporary plays and musicals that are chosen to enrich, enlighten, and entertain, and that reflect the diverse population of the Washington metropolitan area. MetroStage presents work that is original, challenging and innovative, unpredictable and nontraditional. Always work that tells a compelling story.

The small theatre with its thrust stage and steeply raked audience presents opportunities for both the actors and the audience to experience theatre in an intimate, communal setting. MetroStage is an award-winning theatre, recognized for the exceptional talent on its stage. It is also recognized for its role in the development of new plays and musicals, many that depict the African American experience.
