Catherine Flye has been seen on our stage in Sea Marks, For the Pleasure of Seeing Her Again, Christmas at the Old Bull and Bush, and George Don’t Do That! And NOW as Anne Hathaway in Shakespeare’s Will.
Canadian playwright Vern Thiessen’s remarkable one-woman play featuring Catherine Flye as Anne Hathaway. Directed by Nick Olcott. A lyrical recollection of her life as the wife of William Shakespeare ,exposing the woman who had a life and dreams of her own as she raised Shakespeare’s children alone in Stratford, while her husband wrote the greatest plays of all time in London, separate and apart from his wife and children. On the eve of his funeral she receives his “Last Will and Testement” where she is given his ‘second best bed’, triggering these powerful memories.
