Metrostage at the Lyceum Presents
WITCH
A new musical by Stephen Gregory Smith and Matt Conner
It’s historic, it’s political. Listen and embrace ALL witches before it is too late!
Featuring Felicia Curry, Donna Migliaccio, Molly Rumberger, and Bobby Smith
MONDAY, OCTOBER 14 & TUESDAY, OCTOBER 15
From Joan of Arc to Stormy Daniels, join us on an hysterical, historical trip, through politics, persecution, and a persistent Patriarchy.
“WITCH” has been remade/remodeled/and remixed to reflect our current political and pop culture.
As Election Day looms, bring brooms and join our witches as they “Sweep Them Out!”
Enter a group of women. Mysterious women. A family? A coven? A political movement? Stories of powerful women throughout time and the persecution faced at the hands of those fearful and distrusting of their power. BUT they give life and wisdom to those who seek it. And for this crime, they will forever be known by the name of WITCH. Witness the story AND the music. Historic themes will resonate today as we navigate our way through this political season.
MetroStage showcased the songs of Conner & Smith in past cabarets, and NOW you can experience a reading of one of their acclaimed musicals. Four of Washington’s finest actors with three exceptional musicians will perform this musical written by the DMV’s favorite songwriting team.
Casting and showcasing Washington’s great artists is what we do at MetroStage while always sharing compelling stories and music. Please join us at The Lyceum while we await the opening of our new theatre.
